Patents and European patent validations

Patent applications, the national phase of a PCT application, proceedings before the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic and the EPO. Validations of European patents for Slovakia and the Czech Republic, including translation of the full specification and monitoring of the three-month deadline. We track renewal fees for you.

Trademarks

European patent validation

Has your European patent been granted? We file it directly for Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

This is not only a service for foreign firms — we handle validations the same way for Slovak and Czech companies directly. Your Slovak and Czech patent attorney files it, not an intermediary: we translate the full specification, keep the three-month deadline and confirm effect. A fixed fee of €250 (€200 in the additional period), translation at €8 per page, and the official fee of €100 for Slovakia and CZK 2,000 for the Czech Republic passed through at cost.

Dušan is a patent and trademark attorney and an attorney-at-law with a strong background in intellectual property, competition law and food and chemical regulation. He holds academic degrees from Sweden, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and professional certificates from the United Kingdom and South Africa. He has practised in Sweden, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia, advising on patents, trademarks, trade secrets and technology transfer. He also has hands-on experience in dispute resolution, employment law and collective bargaining for Fortune Global 500 clients.

Fees

We agree the fee before the work starts

Which model we choose depends on whether the matter is a predictable step or one with an open end. Either way, you know where you stand.

Fixed fee

For work with a clear scope — a trademark application, a European patent validation, a licence agreement. The price is known in advance and does not change.

Hourly rate with a cap

For matters whose scope cannot be estimated in advance. We agree both the rate and an upper limit that we will not exceed without your consent.

Value-based fee

For transactions and mandates where the fee is tied to the outcome or the value of the matter — not to the number of hours recorded.

04

Tariff fee

Under the advocates' tariff, where that suits the nature of the matter or where the other side or the court expects it.
